In about 36 hours, we will have begun our SMI experience! From what we've heard, at 4:30 on Saturday, we will begin to hear about our specific duties and tasks from the people who know them best. We are ready and excited to BEGIN!!! Expect a loaded post come Sunday morning.
But - please pray for us. While we are super excited for SMI, it comes at a stressful time for me (Lauren) particularly. I work 10 of the 14 days/nights that we will be doing SMI, which means that my life will consist of working, sleeping, going to SMI, and some nights, going back to work. As if that weren't going to be complicated enough, I have jury duty on the 16th. AND - to top it all off, the Abt family vacation begins the day after SMI ends. AND - I haven't figured out how I will get time off from my job to go on vacation, which I will probably NEED come June 27th as my sanity may be wearing thin.
So there are a lot of logistics to work out in the next 2 weeks, as well as a lot going on. Please pray for all of that - as well as for our hearts and minds as we go into the community.
I promise that the next post will be less of "we are excited/please pray" and more "how awesome is this/here's a great little story"!
